Hard to say. For that matter, is there really any one answer or explanation? Personalities vary. I think about how two soldiers might see the same firefights and lose the same friends, but one is shattered for life from what he went through while the other is able to put it behind him and lead a "normal" life. I suppose it's somewhat similar with the far less dramatic experience of being a JW. Makeups vary, as do investments of time and energy as well as whatever irrevocable decisions that may have been made because of the belief system, and one's peculiar reaction to whatever loss was sustained. Don't know the answer... just different ways to look at it.

Kind regards,

Ashenden
